About the Author
Anupa Lal has been writing for children since she was a child herself, several decades ago.
Her first published book was a picture book titled The Rescue. She went on to write more books including collections of poems for children.
Retelling folktales has been another area of interest for her. She particularly enjoyed retelling The Comic Capers of Sheikh Chilli, which had been among her favorite stories as a child.
She has also retold stories of Akbar and Birbal, Alladin, Sinbad the Sailor and Hatim Tai.
Anupa Lal has written two biographies - Shri Ramana Maharishi and Munshi Premchand.
She has also translated several short stories by Munshi Premchand, from Hindi to English, as well as his last novel Godan.
Besides writing for them, she enjoys interacting with children. She has visited several schools in and around Delhi for storytelling and creative writing sessions.
